Though I work in Stampin’ Up!’s corporate communications department, I am also a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. And I LOVE it!! How did I join?
Earlier this year, I was sitting in the demonstrator training prep room doing something I love—i.e. creating projects for the corporate blog. My friend, Bonnie Thurber, came in and started working on her own project. To my surprise, she suddenly asked me the golden question: “Have you ever thought about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator?” (You see! We even ask EACH OTHER the golden question!)
I had in fact thought about being a demonstrator, and she was catching me at a very good time. My daughter is getting married and I wanted to make a little extra money. Plus, Bonnie is my friend and I love her to pieces. Long story short—I joined. And I love it. My first party was a blast.
Bonnie subsequently invited me to a downline meeting given by our mutual upline, Julie Shaw. What do Stampin’ Up! demonstrators do at their meetings? They make stuff. Lots of stuff. And they swap. (I made my first swap!) They eat yummy snacks. They learn about upcoming promotions and products. And they have fun with friends who love to papercraft. Here are some pictures of Julie’s party.
We exchanged swaps.

One of the projects we made at the party.
Cindy with more projects made at the party.
And here are directions for making the cute treat pouch Julie demonstrated.
Begin with a 6" x 6" square of Designer Series Paper (US/CA). (Cardstock is a little heavy for this project.) Using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, score down the middle. Turn the square and score twice at 2".
A cute little treat pouch!
I made a few more—just for fun.

Such fun fotos, Cindy! I love the one of me and Paula (my upline and dear friend of two decades). Oh, and I knew a ring was coming, but I couldn't say anything to anyone. Funny, huh?
Thanks, June! And I agree with you. Bonnie IS one of the most amazing people I know. And that beautiful bling was added to her hand just a few days after this picture was taken!
I love the treet holder and will be CASEing that for sure. Although I love Bonnie's luscious red nails I did notice some beautiful bling missing that she was showing off at the South Pacific Convention this year. I had the privilege to have a personal one on one chat to Bonnie and she was the most sincere caring person that everyone talks about and she is also incredibly funny.
