I Love Ikat

If you’ve never heard of Ikat, you’re not alone! I kept hearing that it was a trend and I decided to check it out for myself.

Ikat is a type of fabric made of yarn that has been dyed prior to weaving and is characterized by an irregular, feathery design. Ikat is definitely hot in the world of interior design, and it’s all over Pinterest.

I love patterns in paper crafting. Our photopolymer set, Eye-Catching Ikat, gives you  a great way to create Ikat-inspired patterns. In fact, it’s downright addicting. Once I tried stamping with it, I had so many more things I wanted to try. And it’s easy to use since—with photopolymer (US/CA)—you can see where you’re stamping.

I’ve made a few projects to share. I’ve combined Coastal CabanaPool Party and gold to create this trio of cards. They’re all pretty simple, but the Ikat pattern makes them pop!

I'd like to add that its' super easy to line up these stamp images - even without a stamp-a-ma-jig!

I love these! My grown daughter introduced me to the ikat craze. Think I'll have to get this stamp set and dip my toe into the world of ikat. Especially love your color combo...which while be my starting point:)

These are stunning! This kind of stamping -- backgrounds and borders -- is what I love to do. Thanks!
