Documenting December

I absolutely love documenting December. This is my third year doing an album specifically dedicated to the joy and magic of December. They are treasured albums.  It isn’t too late to start your own December album.

Last year I was dedicated to documenting something every day, but this year I am going a little easier on myself.  I am just documenting the days and memories that I want and am not putting pressure on myself to record every day.

For a little inspiration to help get you started on your own album, I went back to last year’s album and finished off a few days to show you. Here is a link to a few of my other days from this album.

I was so excited to use the 8" x 8" Divided Page Protectors from the holiday catalog.  I didn’t use the 8" x 8" format for last year’s album, but that didn’t stop me. I just cut up the page protectors to make them work for my album and I love, love, love how they look. I am all about having things show through the other side. It just adds a fun, eclectic look and feel. Cutting up the page protectors also helps if you don’t have enough photos and products to fill up all of the pockets. 

For the first page I printed a full-page photo of the winter scene outside my house. I am a big fan of full-page photos. I embellished it just a little with a Tea Lace Paper Doily, some stitching, a snowflake from My Digital Studio, and a digital cutter (US/CA). For the page protector side I had some serious fun. I used the MDS Daily December Memories Photobook Template for the “Let it snow” card. It is a must-have download for this project. The confetti pocket contents were made using the digital cutter’s small circle, star, and snowflake punches.

The other side is a lot more of the same. I used the MDS O Christmas Tree December Kit for the number circles and the “Holiday memories” card. So many cute elements in that download! The cute “Merry” die cut was made using the Expressions Thinlits Dies from the holiday catalog.

I hope this inspires you to start a Christmas album of your own!
