Simply Created Snowflake Ornament

Without hesitation I can say that Christmas is absolutely my favorite time of year. I love everything about it. One of the things I love most is decorating our family Christmas tree and putting beautiful packages underneath.

When it comes to our tree, I really love adding some larger ornaments and then filling in with smaller ones. It wouldn’t feel like Christmas unless I am handcrafting gifts and decorations, but like most of you, my time is precious. That is what I love about the Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit. I used it to make this big, beautiful rosette snowflake ornament.  It measures a little over 8 inches across.

The kit comes with four pre-scored rosette strips. I glued the two Pool Party strips end-to-end. I cut one of the medium Bermuda Bay strips in half lengthways, so I ended up with two 1" x 16" strips. I glued them end-to-end, then glued the entire strip to the outer edge of the Pool Party strip. Then I fan-folded the entire piece and glued the ends together to create a full circle. Next, I pushed down the middle and used some hot glue to adhere the larger snowflake to the center of the rosette. (You might want to add a circle of scrap cardstock to the back to help secure everything.) Finally, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the smaller snowflake. I made a big bow with ribbon from the kit and attached it to the front with the glue gun. I added a rhinestone to the center. I also had enough supplies from the kit to create this beautiful gift box topper.

The thing I love about this gift box topper is that you can also use it as a tree ornament. I even had some buttons and rhinestones leftover to use on some of the other stamping projects! How awesome is that!
