This year we are celebrating Stampin’ Up!’s 25th anniversary; our theme for the year is “Making a Difference for 25 Years.” Once a month, we will share the story of a demonstrator who has made a difference. If you’d like to share a story of how a fellow demonstrator has made a difference in your life, please send your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
“I met Sarah Fravel, my Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, in 2003 while my husband’s unit was preparing for its first deployment to Iraq,” writes Vanessa Fuery. “I wanted to make handmade cards for every spouse in the unit, and she helped me design a patriotic card and then helped me make them! She got me hooked!”
Although Vanessa and her family moved away from Sara a year later, like many relationships forged through Stampin’ Up! ties, the friendship remained strong. Vanessa continued to order products through Sarah and even signed up as a demonstrator for a few years. But Sarah was much more than an upline for Vanessa.
“Although we've been separated by many miles for the majority of the time I've known her, Sarah has played a significant part in my life, not only for crafty things but as a friend. She was a shoulder to cry on when my marriage of nine years ended in 2006. She and her husband flew to San Diego to celebrate with us when I remarried in 2011. She sent the most beautiful handmade wall art to commemorate the birth of our first child in 2012. No matter the occasion, big or small, she has been there for me.
“Sarah loves her craft and is an amazing and sincere friend. She exemplifies everything Stampin’ Up! represents; she helps me enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments and she has definitely made a difference. Thank you, Stampin’ Up!, for introducing her into my life.”
