This card is really quite simple to create. The first thing you will want to do is score the base of the card in the middle using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Next, cut an oval from Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Big Shot and an Ovals Collection Framelits Die, then adhere the oval to the card.
To create the heart, stamp the oval chevron image from the Oh Hello Stamp Set in VersaMark ink on Shimmery White Cardstock, then emboss the oval image using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. Punch out the heart using the Full Heart Punch, then punch two holes in the center of the heart using the 1/16" Circle Punch. Insert a round wooden toothpick through the holes. Punch a heart from Basic Black Cardstock using the Small Heart Punch, adhere the heart to the top of the arrow, then glue a snippet of a feather to the end of the arrow. (I'm sure the small grouse feather is what really attracted my son’s interest in the first place!)
Finish the card off by stamping “Love” from the Lovely Little Labels Stamp Set in Basic Black ink on Shimmery White Paper, then punch the “Love” image from the stamped paper using the Jewelry Tag Punch. Punch a hole in the end of the tag using the 1/16" Circle Punch, then tie the tag to the arrow using Linen Thread.
The next card really isn't as hard as it seems. It may take a few more steps to create, but it will be well worth it to the special person who receives it!
The first step is to actually press the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad directly to the front of the card to create a very quick and subtle background. Next, wheel the filigree border in Pink Pirouette ink once or twice across the bottom of the card, then stamp the butterfly image in VersaMark ink (slightly off the edge of the paper). Emboss the butterfly image using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. (This is what helps it to look and feel so elegant!)
Next, I used elements from the Artisan Embellishments Kit. I adhered about half of the round doily to the edge of the card, then cut the small scalloped heart from a Canvas Creations sheet using the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. I punched a butterfly from White Vellum Cardstock using the Elegant Butterfly Punch, stitched the canvas scalloped heart and vellum butterfly together, then adhered them to the card. I placed a little snippet of lace from the Artisan Embellishments Kit under the heart, then I used a hot glue gun to adhere the paper rose to the center of the butterfly. I stamped “Be my valentine” in Basic Black ink on the card front, then added some finishing touches using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint along the edges of the card and doily using a Stamping Sponge—plus a few more splatters of the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on the card front. You may not want to give this card away after so much work!!
Have fun stamping and creating!
